A recap of an incredible evening from this past weekend’s fundraiser, held in collaboration with @roadtofreedom1, @2048Foundation, and @zolastudios. All the proceeds are dedicated to offering emergency aid in Gaza and enabling Palestinian creatives to continue their crucial work of safeguarding and sharing their cultural heritage.

A heartfelt thank you to all the amazing artists who shared their talents and made the night truly unforgettable: @saintlevant, @miraa_may, @linamakoul, @farah.nabulsi, @shahdmah850, @rara.a.shams, and @saifealnaffakh.

Join us for a Tatreez Workshop led by Marihan Khoury—a therapist, artist, and art guide with a heartfelt commitment to preserving and celebrating traditional Palestinian arts. Marihan’s journey with Tatreez, the intricate and symbolic Palestinian embroidery, began with her grandmother and mother, who passed down their craft to her. Today, it is a vital part of her artistic and professional life.

Marihan is also the founder of @darnah.haifastore , a gallery and shop in Palestine that features her exquisite embroidery alongside a curated collection of handcrafted products and artistic creations. Her gallery serves as a vibrant showcase of Palestinian culture, highlighting its beauty, resilience, and artistic legacy.

With a unique approach that weaves together creativity, healing, and cultural heritage, Marihan is passionate about empowering individuals and fostering connections within communities through the transformative power of art.

Join us on Saturday, November 16th, for an afternoon book talk with storyteller Sireen Sawalha, to discuss the newly published book, “My Brother, My Land.” Authored by Sami Hermez with Sireen Sawalha, the book weaves together oral history, memoir, and creative nonfiction to bring the reader into the heart of the Palestinian experience. Through the lives of the Sawalha family, and especially Iyad’s connection to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the story confronts the politics of armed resistance, the ethical dilemmas that arise in such struggles, and the suffocating realities of living under occupation.

This gripping and unflinching account delves into Palestinian resistance, the bond a family shares with their land, and the emotional journey of love and loss under military occupation. In 1967, Sireen Sawalha’s mother, with her young children in tow, walked back to Palestine, defying the tide of exile. *My Brother, My Land* tells the story of Sireen’s family living in the Palestinian village of Kufr Ra’i in the following decades. From Sireen’s early life growing up in the shadow of the 1967 War to her family’s work as farmers tending to their land, the narrative also explores her brother Iyad’s involvement in armed resistance during the First and Second Intifadas.
Whether this story stirs discomfort, anger, or a sense of empowerment, readers will emerge with a deeper understanding of the Palestinian struggle.

Join @ajwaa.official for a fun and interactive Children’s Dabke Workshop, where kids can explore the energetic world of Dabke! Led by an experienced instructor, this workshop introduces young participants to the basics of dabke, a traditional Levantine folk dance known for its lively steps and rhythmic footwork. Kids will learn foundational moves, and develop coordination. This workshop offers an exciting way for children to connect with their heritage, build confidence, and experience the joy of teamwork through dance.
